Lately, there has been a buzz going around the private aviation industry. Gulfstream has a brand new jet on the market that breaks distance and speed records and proves to be a hot ticket item for CEO’s and celebrities. The G650 is redefining the standards of corporate travel and blowing away the competition. A demonstration of the G650’s capabilities was showcased at the 50th annual Paris Air Show. Gulfstream sent its G650 on a record breaking voyage from Savannah Georgia to Paris in just 7 hours and 12 minutes. This shattered the previous record of 8 hours and 16 minutes held for 25 years by its popular predecessor, the G450. In addition the G650 traveled from Nice to Sao Paulo in just 11 hours and 10 minutes without stopping. Gulfstream felt the need to showcase this ability due to the vast amount of business that is conducted between South America and Europe. Providing an expedited mode of transportation will help further streamline business interaction between the two continents. CNN compared the extent in which CEO’s are interested in the new model to that of a new IPhone. Although CEO’s are not literally waiting on lines around the block, there have been over 200 G650’s ordered already. Rumor has it that executives from Wynn resorts Disney and Nike were among the first to “jump on board”. The first G650’s started coming off the line in December 2012.
