Safety comes before schedule
A mechanical issue can require inspection, maintenance or grounding the aircraft. Some items can be handled under an approved minimum equipment list, but that decision belongs to the operator under the applicable rules, not the broker or the passenger.
What your broker can do
Your broker can get updated estimates, stay in contact with the operator, search for alternative aircraft, compare timing and costs, and explain your practical options. Availability can be very tight around major holidays and high-demand events.
What the contract controls
Cancellation, refund, replacement aircraft and additional cost terms differ by operator and agreement. Do not assume every delay means a full refund, or that an identical replacement is guaranteed. Know the terms before you rely on a flight for something that cannot move.
Prepare before you fly
Tell your broker about any arrival time that cannot move as early as possible. Ask how substitutions are handled, and whether flexibility on departure airport, timing or aircraft category could create backup options.
Common questions
Will the broker provide a replacement for free?
Not automatically. The contract and the available alternatives determine your options.
Who decides whether the aircraft is safe?
The certificated operating carrier and its authorized personnel. Here is how to verify the operator and aircraft.
