Aircraft Types & Selection

What is the difference between a light jet and a heavy jet?

Light jets seat 6–8 passengers and are ideal for flights under 3 hours, while heavy jets seat 10–16, offer stand-up cabins and full galleys, and can fly 4,000+ nm nonstop. Heavy jets are the choice for long-haul, large groups, and international travel; light jets are the most cost-effective for short domestic hops.

Light jets (like the Citation CJ3 or Phenom 300) seat 6–8 passengers, cruise at 400–480 mph, and are ideal for flights under 3 hours with light luggage. Heavy jets (like the Challenger 604 or Gulfstream G-IV) seat 10–16 passengers, offer stand-up cabins, full galleys, enclosed lavatories, and can fly 4,000+ nm nonstop. Heavy jets are the choice for long-haul comfort, large groups, and international travel.
