Address:
6000 NW 21st Ave
Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309
During World War II, this airport was built to train naval aviators in 1941. At that time, the airport’s name was West Prospect Satellite Field. After that, the government decided to use this airport for public use in 1947. It was during this time that the airport was renamed after the city itself. Because of the amount of air traffic each year, this airport is becoming the eight-busiest general aviation center in the United States. U.S. Customs and the Border Security Facility continue to advance this airport, making it a landing rights airport. Currently, the airport offers four fixed-base operators for the best traveling experience.
