The Al Maktoum International Airport is part of Dubai World Central, and located 23 miles from Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. It originally opened in 2010 and at first only served cargo flights, with the first passenger flight landing later that year as a test flight. The airport officially opened for passenger air traffic in 2011. The airport will eventually become the largest part of Dubai World Central, and contain a variety of amenities, including shopping malls and hotels.
