Minden-Tahoe Airport is located in the town of Minden, Nevada in Douglas County. The airport is approximately 30 miles south of Reno and six miles east of Lake Tahoe. It is the only airport in Douglas County.
The airport was originally built in 1927 as a general aviation facility. In the early years, the airport was used primarily for crop dusting and airmail service. In 1940, the Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA) took over the airport and upgraded it to accommodate commercial airline service.
